Ben Pope: Work in Progress

Edinburgh 2026

Ben Pope ('total delight' **** (Fest)) is a bookseller by day and a stand-up comedian by night. Come and join him as he stress tests a new hour of book-flavoured jokes. There’ll be stuff about Where’s Wally?, airport thrillers, Dr Seuss, performative male readers and Sylvia Plath’s bloody fig tree. Maybe he'll even read some bits of a book he's writing. If you consider yourself a reader: this show is for you! If you don’t – well, I hate to break it to you, but you’re reading RIGHT NOW. I’ll see you there.

This is an archived listing from the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Ben Pope: Work in Progress is by Ben Pope, listed under Comedy in the Fringe programme. It plays at Monkey Barrel Comedy (Cabaret Voltaire), 36-38 Blair Street, EH1 1QR, 9 August to 13 August.

The show runs 55 minutes and is suitable for ages 14+. Tickets are £10. Content warnings: Strong language and Audience participation.
