Midlife hits: your pop-star dream is fading. You wake in a celestial locker room – a chance to change tactics for pop stardom in the second half. A gruff Coach bellows 'man up and move on'; a mystical muse offers orange slices that promise youth – at a price. Welsh singer songwriter Eilir Pierce delivers confessional synth pop bangers in a surreal, wry, tender cabaret for late bloomers. Onscreen duet cameos from Arab Strap’s Aidan Moffat and Gwenno. 'Genius. Sounding like no one else' (Huw Stephens, BBC Radio). Previously played by Jarvis Cocker (BBC Radio 6 Music).
This is an archived listing from the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. HALF-TIME is by Eilir Pierce, listed under Cabaret and Variety in the Fringe programme. It plays at Braw Venues @ Grand Lodge, 96 George Street, EH2 3DH, 7 August to 30 August.
