Sacred Arts Festival Film at St Vincent’s Undercroft: The Life of Moses

Edinburgh 2026

For the third time, join Richard Kendall as he introduces a silent film classic. This year it’s the landmark special effects driven blockbuster The Life of Moses (1909). Coming in at a gargantuan (for the era) 50 minutes, the popularity of this Vitagraph production was a significant milestone in showing that audiences would turn out for longer fare. This episodic account of the prophet’s life was directed by J Stuart Blackton.

This is an archived listing from the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Sacred Arts Festival Film at St Vincent’s Undercroft: The Life of Moses is by Richard Kendall, listed under Events in the Fringe programme. It is at St Vincent's, St Vincent Street, EH3 6SW, 22 August.
