Trying My Best

Edinburgh 2026

Trying My Best is a one-person, family-friendly show blending magic, circus, sideshow and gentle clowning. Light, surprising and a little vulnerable, it’s about learning in public and carrying on anyway, one trick at a time. Featuring a handful of curious oddities – from magic to sword swallowing to wine glass balancing (why not?) – the show is an ongoing exploration shaped by street theatre, cabaret and circus. It draws on performances across twenty-one countries and four continents.

This is an archived listing from the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Trying My Best is by Tom Timon / PBH's Free Fringe, listed under Cabaret and Variety in the Fringe programme. It plays at PBH's Free Fringe @ Liquid Room, 9c Victoria St, EH1 2HE, 8 August to 30 August.

The show runs 60 minutes and is suitable for ages 5+. Entry is free. Content warnings: Audience participation.
